If You Were Saddened By Adamo

If you were saddened by Adamo, this new tiny tablet PC may thaw the cockles of your heart. While no specs have been released yet for Lenovo’s newest creation, this is a very usable tiny PC with a close to full size keyboard. Lenovo has wisely ditched the tiny track pad and buttons in favor of a touch screen. This is hopefully the first of many tablet pc netbooks we will see. Here’s hoping that Apple is the next contender in this field.

A Cell for Everyone and Everyone for a Cell

cell-phone-1

For a gadet guy like me, the iPhone exemplifies the kinds of things I look for in a phone. But what if you’re a chef, lawyer, hermit or gamer? What kind of a phone do you look for? The chef gets the Motorola Cleaver, the lawyer gets a BlackBerry, the hermit gets no phone and the gamer gets this one.

Cellphones aimed specifically at gamers is an emerging market, and has been wide open ever since Sony decided not to release a PSP phone.

This guy even appears to fold up small enough not to be a pocket nuisance when games aren’t being played.

Market Splash Free Business Cards

business-card

Market Splash has the best online business card creator in the world and is the only company out there that gives away truly free business cards, and you still aren’t using them.

Their creation environment is like having an adobe product without having to pay for it and when I say the cards are truly free, I mean you don’t even have to pay for shipping. They are one of the two companies in the world that allows users to upload vectorized images, without flattening them or changing them in any way, for use on customized business cards. They produce the cards with their logo on the back and you pay nothing.

Don’t you feel terrible. Don’t you feel remorse for what you have done. Well, that’s all I’m going to say about poor Market Splash.

Vista Print is terrible.

Bloopers?

The following is content from an old post I thought I would resurrect. If you’ve seen it before, just ignore it.

I found this classic package of briefs as I was cleaning out my grandparents basement and I thought I would share. I have no Idea where they came from, but my grandpa always finds things that are cheap and buys in bulk: (more…)

New iPhone, Huge Potential

processor-core

Recently I read an article at macrumors.com about a potential processor upgrade in the new iPhone. Apparently a company called ARM has developed a quad-core processor that is compact enough to run inside of a cell phone. While I am sure that the clock speed and processing power of each core is relatively small, the four cores working together will, allegedly, vastly improve the speed of the operating system. It’s possible that, with this chip, the new iPhone could run almost as fast as it does on Apple’s commercials.

I am already way too excited for the release of the new iPhone. If upgrading is an option and I can sell my phone for the cost of a new one, I will likely upgrade. Nerd (points finger at self)!

My Dream Phone

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Someone recently remarked to me that they read an article touting the iPhone’s total perfection. I definitely love my iPhone and I would even go so far as to call myself a fanboy, but it is in no way perfect. Maybe my expectations are just too high, but I have seen things other devices can do and I think, “Combine that with the iPhone user interface and we’re in business.” One of these technologies is the pico projector.

Over a year ago Texas Instruments invented a chip that can focus and project laser in the way that regular projectors project visible light. The difference is that the laser source is small as is the chip used to project it, making it possible to create a projector the size of an iPod that can create an image up to 60″ (diagonal).

Ever since this technology was introduced, I’ve been waiting for some company to incorporate it into a phone. I’ve seen mock-ups of projector Blackberry’s and there is a company that sells this phone (they are a Belgian seller in Hong Kong???). But finally a major company has created a phone that incorporates a pico projector. Check out the video below, I think it would be amazing to own this:

So, as soon as the iPhone incorporates a projector, I will ditch my iPhone 3G and likely spend three weeks in utter geek heaven, followed by years of slipping projected images into all of my conversations.

I’d sell my Wii for an iPhone

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Everyday I am reminded of how I bought into the wrong technology. I bought a Nintendo Wii, when I should have bought an iPhone. After careful consideration I have decided that my Nintendo Wii will go on the eBay auction block this week. I would love to raise enough money for an iPhone, but I guess we will see if a Lightly Used Nintendo Wii with Tons of Extras can make over $400. I think that people had better get them now to beat the Christmas prices. Interested? I will put out a link to the auction when I get my Wii on eBay.

A lie is a lie. A rumor is a lie (often).

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

I enjoy visiting gadget websites as much as the next geek, but I’ve got to tell ya, the rumors have got to stop. It’s amazing to me that rumors are taken as “almost” fact by some people. The funny thing is I could write something here like this: Apple is releasing an iPhone next month, with GPS, dual touchscreen, and 3G data connection. Indeed it holds much the same truths as the other rumors that fly around the gadget community. What’s the difference? Because it’s on Morrise.com and not Gizmodo, Engadget, or Macrumors. I guess there credibility lies in the fact that they sometimes, and I mean sometimes they get it right. I’ll tell you right now though, I could come up with a bunch of Apple rumors based on my “analysis” of various things I hear around the internet and I could make up some pretty good things too.
